This mini size kenzan is good for a compact vase. Although the whole size is 2", the pins part is only 1.5" in diameter.

Kenzan is a flower frog, and it is a must-have tool for Ikebana. It is composed of a heavy lead plate covered in sharp pins. Its pins pierce through the bases of the stems to hold them in the desired position.

The most common shape is round. A bigger kenzan is better for a larger arrangement, to hold more and heavier floral materials. A smaller kenzan is better for a compact vase. A black kenzan is best for a dark-colored vase.
